Launching Ramps

An excellent selection of public boat-launching facilities are maintained by municipal and county governments. Many water-privileged communities offer boat launching facilities for their residents. Public marinas are plentiful.

Fishing

The Chesapeake and its tributaries are home for more than 200 species of fish. For a copy of the Maryland Non-tidewater Sportfishing Guide or Maryland Tidewater Sportfishing Guide, contact the Department of Natural Resources at 410-260-8250.

Cycling

Maryland welcomes the cyclist with miles of scenic roadways and bike trails. Maryland designated the bicycle a vehicle, and it must be ridden with the flow of traffic. For more information call 410-767-3400.
