The Annapolis Neck Peninsula is served by Annapolis High School, like most of the high schools in the county there is a
fairly heavy emphasis on AP courses. But Annapolis is unique in that it also offer an International Baccalaureate.
Two noted private schools in the area are Key School and St. Mary's.
The major roads in the area are all heavily commercialized with the largest shopping areas being Annapolis Mall and the
Harbor Center and the Festival at Riva all just off MD 50.
Annapolis is the state capital, the county seat and sits at the intersection of several major roads, making for easy access to
anywhere in the metro area or even the eastern seaboard.

MD 50 is the east west route from DC to the Eastern Shore, there are exits for Crownsville, Annapolis Mall, Anne Arundel
Medical Center, West St, and the State Capital complex including Historic Annapolis.
Aris T Allen Blvd/Forest Drive comes out of the 50/97 merge and is the major road leading to western/southern Annapolis
areas with their major bedroom communities.
US 97 is the highway connecting Baltimore to Annapolis. It passes north south through most of Anne Arundel County's
population and is the most direct route to BWI the international airport that sits in Northern Anne Arundel County.
West St goes west from Ego Alley (Annapolis Harbor) out the Peninsula past the mall and turning into to Generals Highway
which continues north until it merges into US 97.
Defense Highway generally runs east west just north of MD 50.
Riva Road runs from Parole south across the South River into Riva
Paralleling Riva Rd is Solomon's Island Road, the south Anne Arundel County permutation of MD 2.
It continues south into the Calvert County.
