The Broadneck Peninsula is served by two public high schools, Broadneck and Severna Park--both of which have been highly
rated by national magazines. Broadneck High School, located in Cape St Clair, serves 21409 and most of 21012. Severna Park
High School serves Severna Park, a small portion of Arnold, and some smaller areas to the north and west of Severna Park.
The Severn School, Chesapeake Academy, and the Naval Academy Primary School, are the major private schools in the area.
Broadneck has local shopping with the Cape having a small commercial area. There is a small commercial area on the border
between Annapolis and Arnold, and then there is a commercial corridor running up the center of the Peninsula from Arnold,
north through Severna Park, on to Glen Burnie, and the Baltimore city county line. The easy commutes for work also provide
easy access to the Annapolis and Arundel Mills malls.
The major roads in the area provide easy access to the entire Washington Baltimore Area:
MD 50 this section connects the Severn River Bridge to the Bay Bridge, making the whole area is an easy commute to DC
or the Eastern Shore.
MD 2, Ritchie Highway, running generally north south providing access to MD 50.
College Parkway, other than Ritchie Highway, the major road in Arnold it loops from Ritchie Highway to Cape St Clair and MD 50.
Benfield Rd cuts across the top of the Peninsula connecting Severna Park to Millersville, US 97 and its easy access to Baltimore.
